Grüner Veltliner is Austria’s signature white variety, producing lovely herbal and spicy wines. Typically it produces refreshing, tangy wines with white pepper, dill and exotic spice. They rarely see new oak, generally fermented in stainless steel and matured in large old casks. Loimer farms all his vineyards according to organic and biodynamic principles, producing pure fruited, powerful wines. Unlike many Austrian producers who go for an overly rich and sweet style, this gets full ripeness in the vineyard yet ferments to dryness, managing to produce wines with lovely definition, zest and balance on the palate.
Vibrant yellow in colour, this organic vegan Grüner is very aromatic and fruity with nice spice. Aromas of yellow apple, pineapple and marigolds fill the nose with gentle hints of white pepper. The palate is structured and precise with notes of lemon jelly, dried apple, pear pulp and juicy oranges, balanced by refreshing acidity and some saltiness. The finish is citrusy, long and robust - dry and crisp but with good texture.
Lovely with seafood, white meats and poultry dishes.
